Queen Latifah performed “America the Beautiful” at the Superbowl XLIV tonight. Surprisingly (probably to me only), the Queen was not sporting a New Orleans Saints jersey. Instead, she opted for dark denim straight legged jeans, black t-shirt, and a metallic gray and black blazer. Cuuutttteee!!!! And as always the makeup and hair were flawless. The Queen also spoke at the Pregame and National Anthem Conference alongside Carrie Underwood. She always looks so classy.
Over the next few weeks you will see a new look for the site. There will be a new logo. Better and more content. More FASHION for your curves! NEW things coming up. More LIFESTYLE! More CURVES! I hope you curvies enjoy what’s to come.
The View co-host and actress, Sherri Shepherd, has undergone a huge transformation. She slimmed down and changed up her style. Maybe I should say her style matured. Either way she has transformed into a beautiful swan right in front of our eyes. Check out the before and after. This curvy lady has definitely come a long way.
Gabby Sidibe’s stylist may be off at times, but yet and still in the interview she is as cute as a button. Check her out!
Jordin Sparks hasn’t been making a lot of noise in the music business lately, but she’s still managing to keep busy. She recently designed a pendant for Haiti that can be purchased exclusively at pennyroyalsilver.com. The pendant is a two sided pendant with the words “suki desu” on the front meaning “I love” in Japanese. The inscription on the back says “I’m M.A.D, Are You?” along with Jordin’s signature. 30% of the proceeds will go to Jordin’s very own charity, Sparks Charities. The proceeds will go towards funding for mobile medical clinics for the people of Haiti. If you’d like this pendant and want to make your contribution towards helping Haiti, go to www.pennyroyalsilver.com and purchase Jordin’s pendant.
2010 has already been a great year for Monique. She’s won Golden Globe, SAG , and Critics Choice awards so far and the year has just begun. With Precious being nominated for 6 Oscars, Monique may be set to win big again as Best Supporting Actress. Though she has been nominated for a plethora of awards, the actress/comedienne/talk show host is being criticize about her lack of interest in participating in film festivals to help promote the movie Precious. Of course, when you’re nominated for a prominent award such as an Oscar it’s a good look to campaign.
Vanity Fair Magazine quotes Monique from one her shows pondering the financial benefits by attending the film screening by saying “What does it mean financially?”. This question was made during one of her talk show filmings while interviewing previously Oscar nominated Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson. The actress was mocked as being “diva-ish”.
Monique also goes on to question what’s the reason for campaigning. What is it all for? Monique explains herself in an interview with David Carr from New York Times. Carr states that the actress commented that “she is not about to reorganize her life or her priorities to get her mitts on an Oscar”. Monique’s daily talk show, “The Monique Show”, is still a baby and it should be understandable that she wants to do anything to make it grow which includes working around the clock to make it happen.
Though not recognized by many, Monique has kept her name buzzing as a stand up comedienne and as Nicki Parker on The Parkers. She has worked outstandingly hard to get to the point where she is today. Give that lady an Oscar, diva-ish or not.
The Queen is set to hit the field for the Super Bowl this month to sing “America the Beautiful”. While following the curvy celebrity on twitter, I found out she is an avid New Orleans Saints fans so we know who will be her favorite to take it home. I have no doubt that while on stage performing she will be sporting a Saints jersey. I can’t wait to see it and of course I will be doing a posts about the bowl. Stylishly of course.
Queen Latifah is one of few such as Ray Charles, Mary J. Blige, and Alicia Keys to sing ” America the Beautiful” at the Super Bowl.
This songstress has a style of her own not just singing, but in fashion as well. Chrisette Michele’s album Epiphany is certified gold and so is her style. This song bird knows how to work her curves. Here’s how you can get Chrisette’s layered, boyfriend style with items such as the ones below for your curves without breaking the piggy bank.
Jennifer Hudson was all over the 52nd Annual Grammy’s this year. Though she wasn’t up for any awards she was every where performing. She sang a rendition of “People” and “The Way We Were” dedicated to Barbara Streisand at the Clive Davis pre-Grammy party. J. Hud also strolled the red carpet and afterwards paid tribute to the late, great Michael Jackson along side Usher, Carrie Underwood, Celine Dion, and Smokey Robinson.
She’s been working the shoulder look lately. I like it a lot.
